Only issue we had was that when we got back from the Theatre the bar was closed - clsoes at 11.00 p.m. Strange for London.

2nd stay in 12 months. Just as good the second time. Wouldn't bother seeking alternative hotel locally. Excellent location and vg value for this end of town - good local eateries within easy walking distance, nice neighbourhood ethos, great for Royal Albert Hall (15-20 mins walk) and nearby Cromwell Road museums + exhibitions. Less than 100 meters from Gloucester Road Tube and a Waitrose.

Excellent location near tube station. Public areas OK but rooms and corridors rather tired. There is a major refurbishment programme planned for 2011(details in the foyer)which should make this a really excellent hotel. Very good location for Royal Albert Hall which is about 15 mins walk away.

Hotel looking very tired for its apparant 4 star categorisation.My shower room also had a cracked and very small basin which was not very pleasant.Be prepared for a minute and claustrophobic single room otherwise all else at the hotel is great and very functional.

The receptionist who checked us in was extremely uninterested in us and was not particularly helpful and didn't even tell us what floor our room was on. We thought it was the 5th when it turned out to be in the basement. Our room had a bad smoke smell when we arrived and I asked to be changed but no other rooms were available. We asked for the room to be freshened up while we went out for a meal and returned a few hours later and no-one had been to attend to our room. Eventually we got a "glade plug in"! It has to be said it made no difference. The next night we were moved to a much better room, and the breakfast staff were also very pleasant. Beware if you get a basement room!

I decided to pay extra to stay in a 4star hotel as a treat for my boyfriends birthday. I was very dissapointed and wish I had stayed in a travelodge the room would have been bigger, cleaner and better value for money! The room was tiny, the furniture scruffy and on the last morning I noticed blood on the shower curtain.. disgusting.The continental breakfast was very dissapointing, I did not feel anything was fresh, on the second morning despite having paid for it we decided to go elsewhere for breakfast. I did not make any fuss or complaint at the time as I did not want to ruin this special treat.
Shame as this is a good location but will not stay at this hotel again.
